Reduce refractory failure risk

Build better inspection and repair decisions.

High-temperature linings are expensive to maintain and costly to get wrong. Give your technical team a stronger working understanding of refractory materials, installation, failure mechanisms and practical repair.

  • 5 days of face-to-face technical training.
  • Practical hands-on guniting, casting, packing and bricklaying.
  • One-month online examination window after training.
  • Over 2,000 delegates trained globally.

What your team will gain

Practical judgement for high-temperature assets.

The programme connects refractory fundamentals to the inspection, installation and repair decisions made during maintenance, shutdowns and plant operation.

01

Material selection

Understand classifications, raw materials, chemistry, physical properties and industrial applications.

02

Installation control

Review anchors, casting, guniting, bricklaying, ceramic fibre, dry-out and commissioning.

03

Failure analysis

Recognise spalling, sulphur attack, abrasion, anchor failures and hexmesh lining problems.

04

Inspection thinking

Apply inspection and thermography principles to fired heaters, FCCU, RFCCU and reformers.

05

Repair planning

Evaluate repair methods for waste heat boilers, incinerators and sulphur recovery units.

06

Hands-on practice

Work through practical guniting, mixing, casting, hand packing and bricklaying demonstrations.
